Like an Ever Flowing Stream is the debut album by Swedish death metal band Dismember, released in May 1991. The title may refer to the Biblical Book of Amos 5:24, Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream New International Version. A music video was made for the track Soon to Be Dead. Since Karmageddon Records owns the rights to the album, it wasn't re-issued as a digipack disc in 2005 like every other album except for Where Ironcrosses Grow. Regain re. Découvrez des références, des avis, des crédits, des chansons, et bien plus encore à propos de Dismember - Like An Ever Flowing Stream sur album manages to combine the brutality of old school Floridian-styled death metal, add in some melody, and top it off with some fucking solid solos and leads. In fact, the leads on this album sound like Glenn Tipton gone br00tal. Not to mention that they fucking WORK too. The band is from Sweden, but don't be expecting any gothenburg to come flying out of your speakers. Drumwork on this album is done nicely as well. Estby keeps it interesting by changing tempo and drum patterns quite frequently. What's more alleviating is the fact that there isn't an overabundance of tickti. Like An Everflowing Stream is the proof of evolution in metal in a very good way. Taking elements of thrash and turning then into something more agressive and mean. This album is a masterpiece, like most of death metal albums produced in sweden in the very beginning of the '90s. The other Dismember albums are good as well, but this started all. Since i listened to this one, i knew there was another world in metal universe. Dismember-as we Americans say-took the ball and ran with it they penned crushing tunes in direct correspondence, and competition, with the already thriving American death metal scene. And the world took notice. Any doubt is quashed: Like an Everflowing Stream is a towering masterwork and purified evolution of the Swedish sound-the peanut butter to Entombeds jelly, and a long overdue Decibel Hall of Fame recipient. Some of the bonus tracks here are strange. The re-recording of demo track Deathevokation here is a very welcome addition to the tracklist, having the same vocal and overall sound as the rest of this album. Torn Apart, a Carnage cover, is equally at home here. Justifiable Homicide is a Massive Killing Capacity b-side from 1995 - why it's here is unknown to me. The re-recording of Defective Decay is another strange one, being done with an obscenely low vocal style not normal for Matti Karki, this time it's lower than Rogga Johansson's, even - an acquired taste for sure.
