Backbone Discipline, currently working under the slightly altered name of Disciplin A Kitschme, is a Serbian band, one of the two spin-offs of the seminal Yugoslav new wave and later post-punk band Šarlo Akrobata, the other being Ekatarina Velika. After the album release, the band continued performing in major Yugoslav cities, mainly in clubs, and in 1985, they released an EP Ja imam šarene oči I Have Colorful Eyes, recorded during 1983 and 1984, with the track Novac neće doći Money Will Not Come as the most notable track, released by Slovenian record label Dokumentarna in. The original intent for this release was to have a quick follow-up to the debut album "Sviđa Mi Se Da Ti Ne Bude Prijatno" in a form of an EP. After a number of delays "Sviđa Mi Se Da Ti Ne Bude Prijatno" was released in mid-1983, and in September 1983 the band entered studio once again, aiming to release new material by the end of that year. In terms of content, the four songs ("Doboš 7 Puta", "Novac Neće Doći!", "Sviđa Mi Se Da Ti Ne Bude Prijatno" and "Vaspitanje") and the instrumental "Veruj Meni!" belong to the same universe as the debut album (although they are arguably better produced, with heavier and fuller sound). For example, "Sviđa Mi Se Da Ti Ne Bude Prijatno" - which gave the debut album its title, but appeared on this release - is one of the earliest songs by Disciplina Kičme. A timely release of this EP would have nicely concluded the first album cycle.

However, the delays of the debut album were nothing compared to the one the band had to endure with "Ja Imam Šarene Oči". Instead of being released by the end of 1983, the record finally surfaced in mid-1985. Released by the Slovenian private label Dokumentarna, with the cover financed by the magazine Rock, the record came out in 3,000 copies with almost no distribution (the band's leader Dušan Kojić even acted as a travelling salesman, personally offering copies to Belgrade record stores).

During the almost two year long wait between recording and releasing, two important developments happened. First, the band continued working on the material, expending it with additional mixes (such as "Pregršt Novca", an alternative take on "Novac Neće Doći!") and additional instrumentals ("Pristanište", and a live recording titled "28. Jun 84!" - the latter with the brass section). By the time the record came out in 1985 Disciplina Kičme expanded its lineup to include a brass section, which was partially added to some of the original tracks (such as "Novac Neće Doći!"). The end result was not an EP but a Mini Album with 8 tracks, and a transitional record towards the band's next trademark sound.

The second important development was Dušan Kojić's decision to change direction. Frustrated by almost two years of refusals by the record companies, Kojić decided to abandon the band's original direction and sound, expand the lineup with brass instruments, and create a pseudo-superhero moniker "Зелени Зуб" ("Zeleni Zub") for himself which appeared on this record sleeve for the very first time. Although the brass enriched Disciplina Kičme led by Зелени Зуб would find its success in the years that followed, one can only lament the loss of the band's original uncompromising sound and the initial underground nature found on the debut album and "Ja Imam Šarene Oči" in its original studio form. Five stars are given here with that initial form in mind.
