Dieterich Buxtehude Opera Omnia is a project to record the complete works in Latin: opera omnia of the German Baroque composer Dieterich Buxtehude, completed in October 2014 and released on Challenge Records. After Ton Koopman and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir had finished a recording of the complete cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach they began in 2005 the project Dieterich Buxtehude - Opera Omnia to record the complete works of Dieterich Buxtehude. Buxtehude, Dietrich : Membra Jesu Nostri, cantata in 7 sections for SSATB voices, 2 violins, 5 violas da gamba, violone &. Koopman, Ton. Dieterich Buxtehude played a major role in shaping the various types of vocal music in his time. His experience as organist, composer, and director - as well as his extensive knowledge of the contemporary repertoire, including Italian music - made him the most original and significant contributor to the early cantata in northern Germany. On this beautiful CD, Ton Koopman and his Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir expose the unknown Buxtehude. In MP3 format In FLAC format. Buxtehude - Opera Omnia XVI - Vocal Works 6. The seven-part cantata cycle Membra Jesu nostri owes its origin to the close and lasting friendship between two musicians, the Lübeck organist Dieterich Buxtehude and the Stockholm organist and capellmeister Gustav Düben. It is unclear but seems likely that Düben commissioned the Membra from his friend for performances in Stockholm. Ton Koopman and his Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir will be there and they give us an alternative Weihnachtsoratorium of Bach extracted from the Cantatas.
