Shout is the sixth studio album by American new wave band Devo. It was originally released in October 1984, on the labels Warner Bros. and Virgin, two years after their previous album, Oh, No It's Devo. The album was recorded over a period of ten months between July 1983 and Feb 1984, in sessions that took place at the Record Plant in Los Angeles, California. The album retained the synth-pop sound of their previous few records, with an extensive focus on the then-new Fairlight CMI Series IIx digital. Mark Mothersbaugh, Gerald Casale. Shout was Devo's sixth studio album, and the last they would record before a five-year layoff, and while it's pure speculation if the making of this disc had anything to do with that decision, from a creative standpoint this represents the low point of the group's first era. While the herky-jerky push-and-pull between homemade electronics and cheap guitars was a large part of what made Devo's first few albums so exciting, Shout is so slick and glossy one could fry an egg on its surfaces, and that isn't a good thing - with the exception of Puppet Boy and &q. If Demo Shout had held threat like it currently does in Classic, this strategy would not have been used - We would have been able to stand in the doorways of the adds and spam Demo Shout. This did not work in Vanilla. Any warrior who tanked raids, dungeons would be able to tell you we tried this all the time - Demo shout simply did not hold any kind of AoE threat in Vanilla. You could use it to get on to a mobs initial threat table, but NOT hold aggro against sustained attacks. This is further evidenced by the fact that it was a huge deal when Thunderclap became available in defensive stance,. Band Name Never Shout Never. Album Name Demo-Shmemo. Type Demo.
