OK listening to this in 2017, 20+ years after its release gives me a little more perspective to spot the slightly IDM touches of warmth and an almost parallel evolution with the kind of stuff Richard H. Kirk was doing. Toop, I suppose, would like to mentioned with the likes of Eno but Kirk is more of a suitable comparative. Eno rarely did anything as angsty as this. Toop I turn to for 'adult' ambient, this is no exception nor let-down.
