The process music I recorded for this album, were the results of my first full year studying the Kyma sound specification language. I was interested in composing a purely abstract and realtime expression of generative techno music. As Vogel explains: The NeverEngine - a collection of recordings synthesised using bespoke sequencing algorithms designed to interpolate between data-states, and so slide beats into bleeps and tones into drones. Cristian Vogel born 1972 is an experimental electronic musician. Vogel first began working with electronic compositions in the late 1980s with the Cabbage Head Collective, where he worked with Si Begg, among others. He attended the University of Sussex under the tutorship of Martin Butler composer and Jonathan Harvey composer, graduating with a degree in 20th century music. As the album description implies, this is an experiMENTAL release. While it is true that all the tracks follow the same formula, it only adds to the constantly progressive sound of the music, and leaves with a sense of unity, rather than a bunch of scattered tunes summoned on one disc. Pretty hard too, not really banging and roaring, but rather sullen and murky. The kind of music you can really enjoy while melting into one with your favorite screen saver.
