Concrete Blonde is the acclaimed debut album of American alternative rock band Concrete Blonde. Still in Hollywood, Your Haunted Head and Over Your Shoulder were featured on The Hidden soundtrack. Your Haunted Head and Over Your Shoulder appeared also on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 soundtrack. In 1997, Canadian punk band Propagandhi covered True for the Fat Wreck Chords compilation album Physical Fatness, as well Propagandhi's rarities compilation Where Quantity Is Job 1. Mixed at the source with the album release in mind, the sound quality is, as you'd expect, quite snappy. There are no fallouts and the audience is large and enthusiastic between songs, only occasionally looming into the band's action, as they do on the melancholy bite of Caroline, which apparently is a singalong favorite in Brazil. Although 'Live in Brazil' is not a perfect introduction, it is truly a great album, and I'm sure I'll be listening to lots more from the Los Angeles Trio. The greatest disadvantage is 'Live in Brazil' is that the songs lack something of an identity, blurring a bit with each other. Even after multiple listening, I'm still not quite sure, looking at the song lists, what 'Little Conversations' or 'Your Haunted Friend' are like, exactly. But this is a minor flaw.
