Part one of "a continually mutating series of circulating musickal compositions".

Initially limited to 2000 copies in a clear grey clamshell case, sold at Coil's live performance as Time Machines at the Royal Festival Hall in London on April 2nd, 2000. The performance featured Peter Christopherson, John Balance, Thighpaulsandra and Simon Norris (Cyclobe) and was entitled "The Industrial Use Of Semen Will Revolutionise The Human Race".

Copies remaining after the show were made available via World Serpent, along with an additional 1500 copies packaged in a pink clamshell case.

The music was created by Thighpaulsandra and John Balance, and Thighpaulsandra's mother, opera singer Dorothy Lewis, recites the lyrics especially written by John Balance for "her and for mothers everywhere".

One of the deepest & most successful drone compositions in existence and capable of massaging areas of your soul that this synthetic world would corrode if left unattended. A thousand fathoms of sublime sculpted sound with its warped Welsh inflections, that references animism, forests & our environment, time to be perceived as a temporal plaything, ego disintegration & waves of glorious harmonics. Feel the rapture & let it work its mojo on those knots & recesses. Miraculous music & a brilliant companion piece to their analog-zen compositions such as Journey to Avebury, Magnetic North & Moon's Milk/Under an Unquiet Skull (Part One). Psychic healing of the rarest kind.

Wonderful, magical, third-eye-opening drone voyage. You can feel time and space fluctuating and things starting to wibble in your peripheral vision. The music makes the walls melt and as the ceiling peels off you can see a thousand trillion little spermatozoa chortling and doing the watusi in the night sky.

Someone told me this was the only recording by Coil which doesn't actually feature Peter Christopherson at the controls. Mind you, the same person once claimed to have seen a sasquatch just outside Lincoln town centre.

A very special release by COIL and maybe their warmest track up till today. Nearly 50 minutes of fine experimental ambient featuring Dorothy on vocals. Though it's not a very much varied track, it's very atmospheric. I would not say that "Queens of the Circulating Library" is only for hardcore Coil fans. And since the world of music does not end on Avantgarde/Neo Folk/Post Industrial/Noise/Experimental bands like Current 93, Nurse With Wound, The Legendary Pink Dots or Coil, I would recommend this release also for listeners of Brian Eno, Robert Fripp, Tangerine Dream and similar.

Only for hardcore Coil fans - one 50 minutes long track. Few loops and the voice of Thighpaulsandra mother - and after about 18 minutes only the loops left, repeating infinitely. Pure minimal. But only for the chosen ones.
