Citrus is the second studio album by American shoegaze band Asobi Seksu. It was released on May 30, 2006 by Friendly Fire Recordings in the United States, and on August 13, 2007 in Europe by One Little Indian Records. Three singles were released from the album: Thursday on August 6, 2007 Strawberries on November 12, 2007 and Goodbye on February 25, 2008. The song Thursday was featured in episode 1 of season 2 of the British TV series Skins, and the songs Lions and Tigers and Nefi Girly were featured in the first episode of season 3 of Ski. Contrary to what you may see written about them, Asobi Seksu aren't gazing at their shoes on their second album- they're looking skyward the whole time. Yes, the guitar overload, massive reverb, and deceptively sweet vocals are all there, but this New York quartet is anything but a My Bloody Valentine retread. The new rhythm section of drummer Mitch Spivak and bassist Haji moves things along with no fuss, no muss, which is all the better for Hanna to spill guitar guts all over the place.
