Gian Paolo Chiti, born in Rome in 1939 studied at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia gaining diplomas in pianoforte and composition while extremely young. After masterclasses at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia with Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli and Carlo Zecchi and an initial career as a concert pianist, Gian Paolo Chiti has devoted his time entirely to composition.
