Welcome Home is an album by American singer-songwriter Carole King, released in 1978. All songs by Carole King unless otherwise noted. Main Street Saturday Night. Sunbird King, Rick Evers. Venusian Diamond King, Evers, Mark Hallman, Robert McEntee, Robb Galloway, Miguel Rivera, Richard Hardy, Michael Wooten. Morning Sun. Disco Tech King, Hallman, McEntee, Galloway, Rivera, Wooten, Hardy. Wings of Love King, Evers. Ride the Music. Everybody's Got the Spirit. Carole King. Welcome Home. After seven straight gold-selling, Top 20 albums, Welcome Home demonstrated thoroughly that Carole King was on the wrong track. Her third husband, Rick Evers, who wrote lyrics for some of her songs and is pictured with her on the record cover, died of a drug overdose after this album was recorded in January 1978, but before it was released in May, which seems emblematic of the problems here. They include Venusian Diamond, a song that deliberately borrows gimmicks from Beatles records, and Disco Tech. That's right, Carole King goes disco. Carole King - Welcome Home 1978. King wrote, Welcome Home is home now to a group of good people, and it's a state of mind I hope everyone can experience. The idyllic mountain life didn't last long, as when King and Evers went to Los Angeles to record the album with the band Navarro, Evers became volatile, and he died of a drug overdose in May 1978. The album was released two months later and dedicated to Evers. King wrote, He didn't always do 'sensible' things. He often got angry and frustrated about things that many of us couldn't see. He had more love to give than anyone I&apo. Album 1978 10 Songs. Pop Home, 1978. Welcome Home, 1978. Main Street Saturday Night, 05:44. Venusian Diamond, 04:30.
