Lyrically, the album is poignant and clever, though it does occasionally falter, as on the grungy nu-metal number Happy Song. That s The Spirit is an 11-track, exhilarating ride bursting with huge riffs, soaring vocals and stadium filling monster tracks. The album, which lead singer Oli Sykes recently told NME is a celebration of depression, was recorded in the spring of 2015 in Santorini, Greece at Black Rock Studios, which the band discovered by Googling world's most amazing studios. This is my first Bring Me the Horizon album, so I must say I was extremely surprised. Going back into the rest of their catalog, I can see where older fans might see this as a departure from the bands previous releases. After revealing that their forthcoming disc would be titled That's the Spirit, the band has now confirmed a Sept. 11 street date for the album as well as their first major North American tour in support of the effort. The band will start their fall adventure on Oct. 1 in Orlando, Fla, with dates booked through the month until their tour finale at Slipknot's Knotfest in San Bernardino, Calif. on Oct.
