Drunk Choir on track D2 is "everyone that was drinking at Duffy's and O'Rourke's that night."
First two pressings (5000 copies total) were on standard weight vinyl. Subsequent pressings were all on 180 gram vinyl.
Bright Eyes, though, delivered a solid, intricately produced album without the majors' monotony. Immediately, one can sense Oberst's literate approach. His vocal curdle is abrasive yet warm. It's similar to the cooing of Robert Smith, but lush in heartache like Paul Westerberg, leaving the storybook of Lifted or The Story to earn massive praise. Chimes and simple drumming keep the story of personal insecurity and the fear of the unknown coming alive in a dreamy sort of way. Even when he's aching his way through the pop rumble of Method Acting, Bright Eyes convincingly lures one into his eclectic musical world. Oberst obviously has the talent to support the hype. Lifted or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground is the fourth studio album by Bright Eyes and the 46th release of Saddle Creek Records. The band made its national television debut in support of the album, performing The Trees Get Wheeled Away a track that was not on the album on the Late Show with David Letterman. The album is referenced in the Jonathan Franzen novel Freedom when the main characters Walter and Richard attend a Bright Eyes concert in Washington D. during the. Текст песни: I have a friend, hes mostly made of pain He wakes up, drives to work and straight back home again He once cut one of my nightmares out of paper I thought it was beautiful, I put it on a record 4th Bright Eyes Album. LIFTED or The Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Eyes' jangly acoustic strumming and risefall vocal quaver has evolved fairly naturally since his 1998 post-Commander Venus solo debut, Letting Off the Happiness. So, then, would you be shocked to discover that Lifted is just about the least surprising album of all time It's true. But Lifted hits more than it misses. The slow buildup of strings in the languid waltz of False Advertising is exceptional despite containing the album's most embarrassing moment a contrived 'mistake' in the playing just as Oberst sings mistake, though, as with the album as a whole, its accomplishments compensate for its oversights. Текст песни: The picture is far too big to look at kid. Your eyes wont open wide enough and you are constantly surrounded by that swirling stream of what is and what was. Well, weve all made our predictions but the truth still isnt out. Текст песни: Well the animals laugh From the dark of the wilderness A baby cries hard In an apartment the best Bright Eyes album is a difficult matter. First of all, most of the material is great, and second of all, most of it sounds different. Conor Oberst is one of the few artists who has released an album for everyone it doesn't really matter what you listen to, you can more than likely find a Bright Eyes album that you enjoy to some degree. The best of the bunch, however, is 2002's Lifted. A somewhat daunting album that clocks in at an hour and thirteen minutes long, it has more of a musical journey feel than other Bright Eyes records, due in no small part to the placement of the two longest tracks as its bookends.
