The album became an instant success in the United States, being certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America less than a month after the album's. Night Moves was in the pipeline when Live Bullet hit, and wound up eclipsing the double live set anyway, so Stranger in Town is really the record where Bob Seger started grasping the changes that happened when he became a star. And 1978's Stranger in Town is full of great rockin' tracks like that. Hollywood Nights is a true rock n' roll classic, and Feels Like a Number and Ain't Got No Money have that same bluesy rockin' vibe that infuses this album with a good amount of old fashioned rock n' roll fun.
