Album

Stranger in Town is the tenth studio album by American rock singer Bob Seger and his second with the Silver Bullet Band, released by Capitol Records in May 1978 see 1978 in music. Like its predecessor, the Silver Bullet Band backed Seger on about half of the songs and the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section backed Seger on the other half. The album became an instant success in the United States, being certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America less than a month after the album's. Night Moves was in the pipeline when Live Bullet hit, and wound up eclipsing the double live set anyway, so Stranger in Town is really the record where Bob Seger started grasping the changes that happened when he became a star. It happened when he was old enough to have already formed his character. Bob Seger And The Silver. The delivery on Live Bullet shows what the band can do to inject life into songs that are muted in the studio, and Seger definitely wrote some fantastic songs over his career. But on the whole I prefer other band's interpretations Thin Lizzy's- Rosalie, to name one, and Metallica's Turn the Page to name another. Coming in the midst of Bob seger's most productive periods, this album combines No nonsense folk and Rock, with his signature sound through all of it. Read more. One person found this helpful. And 1978's Stranger in Town is full of great rockin' tracks like that. Hollywood Nights is a true rock n' roll classic, and Feels Like a Number and Ain't Got No Money have that same bluesy rockin' vibe that infuses this album with a good amount of old fashioned rock n' roll fun. This is balanced by Seger's great ability to pen a more thoughtful, softer rock tune, as he does in Still the Same, We've Got Tonite, and The Famous Final Scene
