Ride Out is the seventeenth studio album by American rock singersongwriter Bob Seger. The album was released on October 14, 2014. Although Seger had previously stated that it might be his final album, a follow-up album entitled I Knew You When was released on November 17, 2017. Ride Out was Seger's first album of new material in eight years. At 34 minutes, it's brief and nearly half of its ten songs were composed by songwriters other than Seger, two characteristics that would suggest something of a patchwork job if it weren't for the fact that in the days before the Silver Bullet Band, Bob used to regularly split his brief albums between originals and covers. The last time Bob Seger released an album, 2006's 'Face the Promise,' he was coming off an 11-year break from recording and a 15-year absence from the Top 10. It's not a great record, but it's no embarrassment either it reached the Top 10, went platinum and reminded music listeners why he was such a big deal back in the day.
