Shortly before production began, the original dummer Scott Raynor,. If Woodstock was for the shirtless jocks, Warped Tour was for the skaters, losers, and wannabes who still sometimes needed a ride from mom. And that's fine, because few of their peers are quite as blissfully stupid and effortlessly catchy as them. Listen to Enema Of The State right now. Its their first release with drummer Travis Barker, who replaced original member Scott Raynor. Enema of the State is Blink-182s third studio album and was released on June 1, 1999 through MCA Records. What's My Age Again, All the Small Things and Adam's Song were released as singles, each highly successful. The somber Adam's Song, written from a suicidal person's perspectiv. For follow-up to the band's successful second record, Dude Ranch, the band booked multiple recording sessions to produce the album. Shes seen prepping her gloved hand to deliver an enema-an apt pose considering the albums title, which is a play on the phrase enemy of the state. And that's fine, because few of their peers are quite as blissfully stupid and effortlessly catchy as them. Beginning to stray away from their punk roots, the band collaborated with reputable punk-rock producer Jerry Finn, who played a pivotal role in creating the albums contagiously-melodic pop-punk sound and bringing the genre to its mainstream peak. What has the artist said about the album . But blink's skepticism toward adulthood is more sophisticated Going Away to College, and their anxiety about romantic relationships both real and imagined is palpable. Of course, the lovely Janine is as much an indication as Going Away to College, a catchy little number that pretty much repeats the narrative of Dammit: blink-182 is not growing up, no way, no how, nowhere. After a long series of performances at various clubs and festivals and several indie recordings throughout the 1990s, Blink-182 first achieved popularity on the Warped Tour and in Australia following the release of their second album Dude Ranch 1997 and its rock radio hit Dammit. Recorded at various locations throughout California with producer Jerry Finn, the album was first released on June 1, 1999 in the United States on MCA Records. Sure, the lurching What's My Age Again cheers on immaturity, and new drummer Travis Barker adds breakneck aggression to the band's chugging riffs. To record their third album, Blink-182 turned to veteran punk rock producer Jerry Finn, who. Enema of the State Q&A. Among these were Blink-182, whose breakthrough album, Enema Of The State, released on 1 June 1999, helped the genre explode in summer 1999 and set the three-piece on a whirlwind adventure of global chart domination and platinum sales. Having grafted around their local San Diego punk scene since the early 90s, Blink-182 had gained notice for their goofy live shows and catchy three-minute songs based predominantly on adolescent dating, fart jokes and high-school shenanigans. On the weekend of the infamously disastrous Woodstock 99, which symbolized rock radios id-fueled descent into aggro dipshittery, a snottier kind of teenage angst was manifesting 200 miles to the west in Buffalo, New York. They signed with MCA, but the only sign that Enema of the State is a major-label effort is the somewhat cleaner production and the fact that they could afford porn superstar Janine - all decked out as surprise an enema nurse - for the album cover. This is a fantastic pressing. Really well packaged with a perfect record. It sounds amazing, this master is probably even better than the CD, and I really liked the CD mastering.Weirdly enough, the artwork on the rear of the gatefold sleeve is rotated 90 degrees to the front. It's a bit odd, but probably intentional?

I own 3 versions of this album by SRC and this is by far the best sounding and anyone that has this version understands any other version is just disappointing in appearance and quality, it's like owning a Porsche 911 and then going out buying a Jetta now you could give that Jetta an exotics paint job with ground effects but it will never be a Porsche

Arlana
Impressive pressing... soooo so good, probably vocals are slightly muffled but whatever i love i can hear all these details specially in the drums i believe. One of the best in the Hi-Fi Series... i would probably consider tmtts and greatest hits close to this, probably closely followed by the self titled. Cheshire cat follows not so far behind then Dude ranch unfortunately falls way back from expectations.

What can I say about this pressing that hasn't already been said? Simply the best sounding version of this album. Period!

Lucam
Blows away previous MTSR pressings and the CD. Get this or the upcoming repress from SRC, you won't regret it.

Mave
For those of you who missed this release... I've been in contact with SRC -they will be releasing another run of Enema in the coming weeks (6 weeks tops). Sorry to the people trying to sell this for greater than double the price, but there are plenty of other records to do that with. I'll be waiting for the new pressing.

I now own 3 versions of this album from SRC and none of them compare to the appearance or quality of sound as this album does in fact after owning this album and purchasing two other versions I am highly disappointed in the other versions

Andromakus
New pressing was just announced today. Non-deluxe, colored vinyl. The sound is not going to come anywhere near this copy. Flippers suck, but if you're in the market for the best version of the album, this is absolutely it.

Molace
This release sounds brutally good, best pressing of this album ever.

Rainshaper
For those looking for the release: SRC Vinyl released this. Might be sold out by now.

Jieylau
Was kind of disappointed that the "Ultimate Enema Guide" was just a lyric book but a solid release nonetheless.

Mr.jeka
I felt the same way!! It needed pictures and not just vector art

Cordabor
Sounds soooo good. The packaging is also super solid. Excellent release!

digytal soul

Ok I'm glad I decided to bite on this release. Of course we all know and love the music...but is this pressing the definitive "audiophile" experience? I'm going to say...yes. I can't imagine this album sounding any better. The mix is great and it's definitely louder and more in your face than my previous pressing. I'd say...GOOD JOB to the folks who made this. The packaging is really nice as well. Lyric booklet & really thick cardboard outer sleeve. The inner sleeve was high quality plastic (as all new releases should be!) and the sleeve reproduction is really clean...not pixelated like other reissues.

Kajikus
Really interested to read any reviews of the supposed audiophile sound quality. I have the standard Hot Topic splatter release and personally can't see spending another $30 on an album that was recorded digitally anyways...

Brialelis
I heard good things about the new pressing. I just grabbed a copy since SRC is apparently almost sold out. Sell your splatter which people are paying ridiculous prices for to offset the cost!

Qwert
I received my copy yesterday and it sounds very well done. The only thing that was a little misleading is that these aren't necessarily numbered. There's no numbering on the jacket itself, just a sticker on the poly sleeve the record came in that has a marker-written number on it (so if you lose the sleeve you won't know what "number" your pressing was). It's not a serious issue by any means, but I know it's something some collectors might take issue with. Otherwise, SRC did a very nice job with this. I'm curious to see what others think!

kolos
Another thing is that Hot Topic release were the edited songs. Blink182... edited? No thanks. I'll pay $30 more for that reason a lone. I have this coming in the mail. The extra photos make its worth it in itself.

Kigul
i almost guarentee it will sound much much better then any shitty hot topic pressing...

playboy
This album was actually recorded on analog tape, at least according to the Wikipedia page.

Alsantrius
Edited? Yet they didn't edit Shut Up for the TOYPAJ release? screw Hot Topic. lol

Qumen
I don't have mine yet but, for what it's worth, this version was mastered specifically for vinyl by Kevin Gray who is widely considered to be one of the best in the biz. Not only that, but this will include What's My Age Again? in it's uncensored format, unlike the Hot Topic release.
