Soup is the second studio album by American rock band Blind Melon, released on August 15, 1995. The album was released eight weeks before vocalist Shannon Hoon's fatal drug overdose, making it his final album with the band, though it was not their last release with him, as his posthumously released work was included on the next album Nico. Absolutely hilarious to see this gimmicky soup-colored vinyl fetching ridiculously marked-up prices because it's a stupid color variant.Bonus tracks? Deluxe packaging? Oh, just a different color, yea? Well hell, let's mark it way up then, for the fools who buy such things. Colored vinyl is useless and mediocre.

Ok, gotcha, you're just a hypocrite then. Now I got it. This is what you said about the BLUE VINYL variant of Soundgaren's "Superunkown"...."So glad I bought my copy of this at a killer price when I did, as the vulturisc flippers are skyrocketing the price, cashing in on some good ol' Cornell blood money in the wake of his death. A curse on all your families for that shit, flippers. This version sounds a lot fuller and richer than the 2014 remaster, as well. Original pressings are the only surefire way to go!"So you hate flippers and "worthless colored vinyl" and yet you bragged about selling your colored "Soup" for three times the price. That's rich.

I have *this pressing* 2 out of 5 stars. The black variant (which sounds MUCH better than this colored variant) received a 5-star rating from me. And mad at the prices? I bought this variant at the same time as the black variant and immediately sold it for triple what I paid for it to someone who actually thinks colored vinyl matters. Still kept my black variant because that's the superior pressing of this album, by far. I'm definitely not mad at the price I got for this mediocre color variant, no sir :D

Very very nice reissue. It's a pleasure to listen to such a great sounding record. I will shop Analog Spark in the future. Especially loved the packaging.

AS00029 Is coming from the hype sticker. All the copies have AS00028 printed on the spine. I think the sticker is just misprinted.

I have complete faith in Analog Spark based on this release alone. Love to see them tackle more 90s alternative, which is a genre in much need of some reissues (Toad the Wet Sprocket).

Very happy with this. Heavy jacket, heavy (and flat) vinyl. Soup color turned out great. I feared it was going to be a brown-ish broth color, but it's quite vibrant. Quiet, lively sound to boot.

i think you should contact customer service at Analog Sparks. Yours is the only bad review ive seen on any forums (Hoffman included). Mine sounds identical to my black. No better and no worse. Not sure how yours could be different but give them a call and get a replacement maybe.

My copy of Soup on Soup variant vinyl sounds excellent. Very quiet and highly crankable. Top notch packaging too. If only all reissues were this good.

I purchased both versions and can hear no difference at all on my Planar3. The soup version sounds great. They did a great job. Not sure what could be going on with the other reviewers copy.
