Album

The Seer is the third studio album by the Scottish band Big Country, released in 1986. The album featured very traditional Scottish musical settings, reminiscent of the band's debut album The Crossing 1983. Kate Bush worked on the title song in a duet with lead singer and lyricist Stuart Adamson. The album's first single, Look Away, was an Irish number one, and was also the group's biggest hit single in the UK, reaching 7. The album reached number 2 in the UK Albums Chart. Stuart Adamson. The third proper album by Scottish quartet Big Country kicks off with the stellar Look Away, a rocking outlaw tale with very cool guitar work from Bruce Watson and lead singer Stuart Adamson. However, the simple, anthemic choruses and effects-laden guitars are beginning to wear a little thin four years after the band's promising breakthrough. Big Country does little to expand on their sound or lyrical themes and The Seer is somewhat disappointing. Big Country - The Seer review: I never should have said out loud that I wanted to save the I let it slip away. The albums first single Look Away kicks the album off and it's an immediately catchy, even bouncy, big pop song unlike the band had recorded on its previous two efforts. The song is smooth and tuneful, and its story of an outlaw on the run and unrequited love is familiar lyrical ground for the band. Certainly a promising start that continues as the title song comes along next and delivers more traditional Big Country fare with it's traditional Scottish folk music influences and the inspired choice of Kate Bush providing cool and crooning back-up vocals. The Seer is a music album by Big Country released in 1986. The Seer is ranked 26,181st in the overall chart, 3,547th in the 1980s, and 371st in the year 1986
