The Piano Concerto No. 5 in E major, Op. 73, by Ludwig van Beethoven, popularly known as the Emperor Concerto, was his last completed piano concerto. It was written between 1809 and 1811 in Vienna, and was dedicated to Archduke Rudolf, Beethoven's patron and pupil. The first performance took place on 13 January 1811 at the Palace of Prince Joseph Lobkowitz in Vienna, with Archduke Rudolf as the soloist, followed by a public concert on 28 November 1811 at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig under conductor. 5 in E flat major -Emperor 2. Collaborating on our new album of Beethovens Piano Concertos No. 2 & 5 Emperor with Kristian Bezuidenhout and the Freiburger Barockorchester was an incredible experience. By using historical instruments and historically informed performance practices, we were able to immerse ourselves in the world and sound of Beethoven. Congratulations to everyone who was involved in making this recording possible. I am incredibly proud of this album, and look forward to releasing our recordings of the rest of Beethovens piano concertos over the next year in honor of his 250th anniversary. Радио Рекорд - Rock radio. Dua Lipa Break My Heart. Of his five piano concertos, Beethoven: piano concerto no 5 in E major, Op. 73, popularly known as the Emperor Concerto, stands out in particular. Triumphant, belligerent, it is the most accomplished. It was Beethovens last completed piano concerto and the only concerto that Beethoven did not play in public. Beethoven challenges preconceptions by having no orchestral introduction the piano crashes in with a powerful chord underpinned by the orchestra and, in the slow movement which flows directly, uses just one theme instead of several. This is cleverly linked, without pause, to the rollicking finale in which Beethoven finds time to quote a popular folk tune of the day . 73 Emperor: II.
