This Is Where I Came In is the twenty-second and final studio album by the English pop group the Bee Gees. It was released on 24 April 2001 by Polydor in the UK and Universal in the US, just less than two years before Maurice Gibb's unexpected death from a cardiac arrest before surgery to repair a twisted intestine. It is the only album of all-new material released by them on the Universal Music label which had acquired the rights to the group's releases on Polydor Records when they bought that label. This Is Where I Came In is the Bee Gees' twentieth original album and the final album of all-new material released by the group before the death of their brother Maurice Gibb in 2003. It was also the only album of all-new material the band would release on Universal Records. The album was released in 2001. The single, This Is Where I Came In, which is reported to be a reflection on the Bee Gees' career, reached No. 18 in United Kingdom charts in 2001. Not many musicians could pull off placing a Dixieland-style song on an album in 2001. However, this is the Bee Gees, and not only does Technicolor Dreams work, but it is arguably the best song on the album. With its toe-tapping, enchanting clarinet solo and charming lyrics, Technicolor Dreams personifies how music is seen through the eyes of a Gibb. And listeners are fortunate for this Bee Gees-eye view
