"Promotion Not For Sale" printed on Warner Brothers label. Recorded at Caribou (Check with Elton) and Air Studios.
Wish You Were Here is the sixth studio album by rock band Badfinger and their third consecutive album produced by Chris Thomas. It was recorded in the spring of 1974 at Colorado's Caribou Ranch and released in November of that year on Warner Bros. Wish You Were Here was the second and last album the band released on the Warner's label. Although the album received a favourable review in Rolling Stone magazine and is sometimes considered to be the band's best work, it was withdrawn from record. Wish You Were Here is a glistening, powerful rock record that stays true to power pop while sounding as contemporary as any mainstream rock band of the mid-'70s. It was the kind of record that could have been a hit, but due to a series of legal and managerial entanglements, it was pulled from stores before it had a chance to find its audience. Despite its relative obscurity, most die-hard Badfinger fans maintain that the group shines brilliantly on Wish You Were Here and they're correct. Wish You Were Here is yet another awesome Badfinger album released in 1974. 1974 should have been known as the year of Badfinger & surly would have been had they had a good manager & proper promotion going on. Wish You Were Here is a fantastic lp. I'm not going to go into why it was pulled by Warner Brothers, but this album is arguably their best. The remastered disc sounds great, plus the alternate tracks are remarkable. Wish You Were Here. Pop Rock. 乐队列表 Pop Rock Badfinger Wish You Were Here. Add an audio file. Just a Chance. You're So Fine. Рок You Were Here , the last album to feature all four of Badfinger 's classic-era members, works as a prime example of this star-crossed band 's woes. As well-crafted and engaging as it is, this November 1974 project failed to even crack the Billboard Top 100. The truth was, Badfinger had signed a disastrous management contract with Stan Polley, one which eventually not only bankrupted the group but ultimately tore it to shreds. Even as they followed Come and Get It with a trio of subsequent Top 20 hits in No Matter What, Day After Day and Baby Blue into 1972, members of Badfinger were barely scraping by financially. Even their best intentions went awry. Wish You Were Here 1974. Album by Badfinger. was covered in
