The band went back in the studio to record A Young Trophy Band in the Parlance of Our Times for longtime friends at Equal Vision Records. Damien quit the band before the release of the EP, leaving the rest of the members searching for his replacement. In August 2008, As Friends Rust reunited once more, playing seven shows. They played one show in their hometown Gainesville, Florida, before playing seven shows in the UK and Europe. The line-up during this tour was the same as the God HourAs Friends Rust era Damien Moyal, Kaleb Stewart, James Glayat, Joe Simmons and Timothy Kirkpatrick. A Young Trophy Band in the Parlance of Our Times is an EP and the final release from As Friends Rust. It featured the final line-up as well. Damien Moyal quit shortly after the recording of the album, leading the band to decide whether to continue. They recruited a new vocalist and changed the band name to Salem.
