No Limit is a 1977 jazz album by saxophonist Art Pepper playing with George Cables, Tony Dumas, and Carl Burnett. As Pepper says in the sleeve notes, he considered this album to be a memento of his friendship with Lester Koenig, who died on 21 November 1977. Rita-San Art Pepper - 7:55. Ballad Of The Sad Young Men Thomas J. Wolf, Jr. Francis Landesman - 8:41. My Laurie Art Pepper - 8:25. Mambo de la Pinta Art Pepper - 12:41. Art Pepper - alto saxophone. George Cables - piano. Mambo de la Pinta is a little unusual because Pepper overdubbed himself on tenor to join his alto in the ensembles. Throughout this album and during his final ten years, Art Pepper played every note as if it might be his last one. The passion displayed on this particular album is enough of a reason by itself to acquire it. Track Listing. By the 1950s Pepper was recognized as one of the leading alto saxophonists in jazz, epitomized by his finishing second only to Charlie Parker as Best Alto Saxophonist in the Down Beat magazine Readers Poll of 1952. Along with Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan and Shelly Manne, and perhaps due more to geography than playing style, Pepper is often associ read more. My favorite Art Pepper album. Equal parts soulful, sad, joyful, and jamming. The band sounds and plays great together. I didn't know anything about Art Pepper, other that I heard the name before. I listened to No Limit at some web streaming and thought it was interesting enough to buy the LP. Now I own it and have listened to it a couple of times. I could write a lot of fancy words about the music. No Limit is a cool jazz music album recording by ART PEPPER released in 1978 on CD, LPVinyl andor cassette. ART PEPPER - No Limit.
