Whether it is really absolutely Shepp's best album I don't know, but it is certainly by far my most-played of his records, and among my most-played of all records by anyone. Archie Shepp and Beaver Harris are both sublime on this Dave Burrell and Charles Majid Greenlee are both very good. There are very few records of which I truly never tire, but this is one. ARCHIE SHEPP MONTREUX ONE is by far one of the best jazz records in history. It's Shepp at his best with that big, fat tenor sax sound. ARCHIE SHEPP - Montreux.
