Альбом 2007 Песен: 10. Reflector is Antelope's first full-length, if you can call a 10-song, 25-minute CD a full-length. It might be the cleanest-sounding record that Dischord has ever released- or at least since that last Fidelity Jones album. Everything is restrained and minimal: the flinty and trebley guitar lines, the clearly enunciated vocals, the tick-tock pulse-drums. Sometimes, that cold sparseness serves the band well, as on the opening title track, which marries a glimmering motorik bassline to a gorgeously longing vocal from former Vertebrate Bee Elvy. The Washington, D. band Antelope plays hypnotic, interweaving guitar and bass lines punctuated by studied, off-kilter drumming and overlaid by plaintive vocals. Its third album, given a bare-bones production by Ian MacKaye, features punky, exploratory tracks like Dead Eye, lilting, modal pieces such as Mirroring, and herky-jerky math rock outings such as Contraction and Wandering Ghost.
