Their skills bring the basic composition to swirling, passionate life, combining the more structured approach of the original pieces with their own additions and changes. I suppose the nearest equivalent that I've heard would be Peter Gabriel's Passion: ambient, evocative, and multi-layered, featuring a variety of ethnic musicians playing some highly unusual to Western ears ethnic instruments.
