America Live is the first official live album by American folk rock duo America, released by Warner Bros. Records in October 1977. The album was recorded in July 1977 at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, California. It was the first to feature America as a duo, as Dan Peek had left the group for a solo career two months prior to the recording of this album. The album was produced by George Martin. This cut-down version of the two-man lineup's King Biscuit Flower Hour performance from 1982 is reduced to ten songs. The performance and the sound quality are both excellent, and depict the band in a more basic rock setting than their official Warner Bros. live album from 1977, which featured the presence of a large contingent of backing musicians. The work here is more viscerally exciting, the singing is impeccable, and the instruments have a nice, healthy, up-front presence. Album 1977 14 Songs. Try it , Import. America Format: Audio CD. Please retry. The final album of their Warner Bros. Records contract also became their final album as a trio, since Dan Peek left shortly after to pursue a career in Christian music. The set of songs here draws from their most popular hit singles as well as album tracks. Live albums were the order of the day in the wake of Frampton Comes Alive, but these tracks' best renditions had already been recorded. This album was a keepsake for their many fans. Go Unlimited. Commercially, the album performed poorly compared with America's other albums it reached number 127 on the Billboard 200. No singles were released from this album. Track listing.
