Raise Your Fist and Yell is the tenth solo album by rock musician Alice Cooper released on September 5, 1987. It features the track Prince of Darkness , which is featured very briefly in the John Carpenter film of the same name, in which Cooper has a cameo as a murderous vagrant. The song can be heard on the Walkman of one of his victims. A music video was made for the song Freedom, which also became the album's sole single. Raise Your Fist and Yell is the only Alice Cooper album to feature Ken K. Not even a year after the release of Constrictor, Cooper released Raise Your Fist and Yell, which is more of a return to his dark thematic role than its predecessor. The album is obviously rushed and suffers similar flaws to Constrictor, most notably its large amount of filler. Nonetheless, Cooper manages to sound energetic and charismatic throughout the record as he sings about his three favorite topics: sex, rebellion, and death. Review Summary: It defines Alice Cooper, but is it truly a buried gem It kinda baffles me that this is one of Alice Cooper's least known and underrated metal albums. From my perspective, Raise Your Fist and Yell encompasses everything he's about. Simple, yet effective lyrics about youthful rebellion, politics, and serial killers with heavy instrumentals and is overall a headbanging good time. What more can you ask for Cooper's transition from rock to metal was rather effective with Constrictor, but his metal years hit their stride with this masterpiece
