Indian Reservation The Lament of the Cherokee Reservation Indian is a song written by John D. The song was first recorded by Marvin Rainwater in 1959 and released on MGM as The Pale Faced Indian, but that release stayed unnoticed. The first hit version was a 1968 recording by Don Fardon a former member of the Sorrows that reached number 20 on the Hot 100 in 1968 and number 3 on the UK Singles Chart in 1970. Founded by singerguitarist Nick Cash, 999's original lineup also included Guy Days vocalsguitar, Jon Watson bass and Pablo LaBritain drums. Ed Case served temporarily as drummer following LaBritain's injury in 1978, while Watson has since been replaced by Danny Palmer 1986-1991 and former Lurkers member Arturo Bassick 1991-present. 999 became a popular act within the London punk circuit, releasing its first single I'm Alive in 1977 under its own label. 999 - Indian Reservation.
