3 Doors Down is the self-titled fourth studio album by American rock band 3 Doors Down, released on May 20, 2008. It's Not My Time was the first single from the album and was released in February 2008. It can be heard on the band's MySpace site. Another song on the album, CitizenSoldier was released in 2007 as a tribute to the National Guard. 3 Doors Down’s fourth album is not a bad album but to it won’t become a groundbreaking record we’ll remember in a couple of years. The band never strays from what they know and never manages to surprise. Something that they we’re able to do in the past. But they’re not an upcoming band anymore. The situation is different now. A few well received albums and hit singles mean people are going to have certain expectations when listening to new material. Repeating the same trick is not enough and 3 Doors Down does not have the “super rock band” status to get away with that. They have to increase quality or evolve their sound to keep themselves relevant. The future will determine if they have the quality to do so or if they will fade into history.

3 Doors Down is a descent album but misses tracks that stand out. None of the tracks really have the potential to stick in your head. I can’t name a song that will become a hit people are waiting for at concerts. This time they will probably get away with it. They have enough hits to entertain an audience at live performances. But they will have to raise the bar on the next one or they will for sure be replaced by new upcoming artists. They are not in the position where they can afford to keep falling back on accomplishments from the past. This self titled fourth album however is doomed to become no more than a filler in the discography of 3 Doors Down.
